After twenty years in an abusive relationship Cindy was left feeling lost, lonely and exhausted. She had learned to compromise her happiness in an unsuccessful attempt to stave off the onslaught of abuse. Her story is one of neglect, fear, lies, and addictions. Finally forced to leave their home with her four children, they escaped the emotional prison in which they had all lived. Although scars remain, Cindy and her children have found healing and restoration.
Ours is a story of God taking two broken lives with marriages of abuse and neglect, and making the best testing lemon aide on the planet.
Things that are, don't need to be, just because they were. An old friend of mine had that on his office door at work and has always stuck with me. I like profound one liners. I am a Christian man who does not seem to fit into the normal church mode. Actually I do not agree with the mainstream church. If you have read some of my entries. You'll see that I'm very anti-religious and very anti-legalistic. Some have described me as complex and others have said, I am an enigma. I'm not sure I agree with the enigma part.
I am old-fashioned when it comes to the relationship between my wife and I, in a nutshell I am dominant and she is feminine and very much so. We believe and adhere to leadership and submission in biblical terms. Note that I said biblical terms, not church terms. The mainstream church has said the man is to demand obedience. I preferred that my character dictates that I command by my presence and my attitudes. I never have had to ask to be followed. Actually the more protective and masculine I am towards my wife, the more submissive she is towards me. I can hear it now 'Submissive' oh no, he said submissive, runaway, run fast, don't look back. I'm not going into a discussion about submissiveness right now. I'll save that for another article. Suffice to say, if I have to explain it. You really have no clue.
I have spent the last 24 years working behind the walls of a prison. Three prisons in fact and in liberal California, and of course I am very opinionated when it comes to the college campus like treatment of incarcerated felons who are murderers, robbers, rapist and child molesters, and the fact that our taxpaying money gives them the opportunity for a college education. Spiritual guidance, better medical insurance than I have and free electricity, free security, trade schools, and much more. But again I'll say this topic for another post.
One of my favorite hobbies is studying, anything that catches my interest. I study until I'm bored with it and then move onto the next subject. It is hard for my wife to keep up with me.
Politically, I am more of a libertarian than anything else. However I see the values of conservatism when it comes to enacting laws to protect people. I am somewhat of a conspiracy theorist, but as of lately I don't believe it's really theory. I love watching Glenn Beck on Fox news, I can't stand reality shows, nor the degrading talk shows during the daytime. Neither can Cindy. I can't stand the extreme Muslim agenda against the United States. And of course we'll save that for another topic as well. Conversely, I can't stand how spoiled our nation has become either.
While I'm on this rant of things I can't stand, another thing I can't stand is to watch the news and see someone victimized in front of a group of able bodied males that stand by and do nothing to protect the victim.
I am a believer of strict adherence to the United States Constitution to include the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms, including the unorganized militia.
